The name 'De Woerdt' refers to a height. In the past, major floods forced residents to build their homes on natural and artificial elevations, so-called drakes. The farm was built at the end of the 18th century on the centuries-old post road between Nijmegen and Arnhem. There was an orchard as early as 1832 and there is an old well under the front house.
