Casa del Monte Picnic and Barbecue Area

The Casa del Monte is accessed daily by (four-wheel) taxi and is the starting point of the popular tunnel hike to the Marcos and Cordero sources dar. Who the hike to the Casa del Monte on foot (from Los Tilos) undertakes, finds a very nice landscaped resting and barbecue area.

Mostly closed. There is drinking water from pooled sources, benches and tables

The villa itself is actually a minor matter, although it is nice to look at. From here you start, for example, on the spectacular 12 tunnel tour to the Marcos springs or on the 13 tunnel tour if you also want to see the Cordero springs ;-).
If you hike up from the visitor center, this is basically the turning point...
The view from up here or from a few meters in front of/behind it is brilliant, spectacular, you are often "above the clouds", a view that you never forget :-)
