Waun Lefrith marks the westernmost of the Carmarthen Fans or Bannau Sir Gaer, a group of peaks within the Black Mountain of the Brecon Beacons National Park. With sublime views over Llyn y Fan Fach and the surrounding landscape, it is a picturesque and remote location.

Amazing view on lake Llyn y Fan Fach and the surroundings. Quite an easy walk anticlockwise from the car park. A bit more challenging clockwise around the hill.

This is a nice cairned summit with great views, but it is more of a hump on a hill than a real summit, as Waun Lefrith is overshadowed really by its higher, more glamorous neighbours to the east. A trivia note, at 677 metres high, Waun Lefrith is the 2,680th highest peak in the British Isles and the 127th tallest in Wales.
