The Brouwersdijk is one of the five centuries-old border dikes between Holland and Brabant. In the 16th century, this location in the river De Donge was a ford. i.a. merchants could cross the border between Holland and Brabant here. And where merchants passed by to trade, there had to be an inn, of course. And where an inn came, beer was brewed. Hence the Brouwersdijk.

In 's Gravenmoer there are still dikes that formed the border between the County of Holland and the Duchy of Brabant for centuries. To make this old border visible again, there are oak border posts, with the arms of Holland and Brabant on them. You will find the poles on the Lagedijk, Hogedijk, Brouwersdijk, Kerkdijk and Dongedijk, among others.
