The carousel, perhaps originally a temporary fairground attraction hand-carved by Schleswig-Hostein native Charles Looff more than a century ago, long since became popular enough for a permanent building to be constructed around it. First located in Texas 1895 and traveled to many locations in Washington and California, it is now one of the oldest in the state.
