At the end of the Kirchweg (side road of the Middelweg) stood a church with a thatched roof. Called the Strohkark. This was a gathering place for Hanneke Mowers. From here they walked to Nieuweschans and from there continued with the barge to Groningen and the next day on to Friesland.
