On the Meuse, not far from the Belgian border, from the Meuse bridge (pont de Meuse) you can admire the beautiful harmonious Givet, with its magnificent façades, the Victory Tower, the holy Hilarius Church (église Saint-Hilaire) and the perched castle. The impressive Charlemont Castle that dominates the valley was built by Charles Quint in the 16th century, and then fortified by Vauban in the 17th century. At the bottom of the castle is the Victory Tower (Victoire tour), former castle tower of the castle of the Counts of La Marck, dating from the 14th and 15th centuries.
