The Ancenis suspension bridge, officially called the Bretagne-Anjou bridge and sometimes called the Anjou-Bretagne1 bridge, is a bridge which crosses the Loire at Ancenis-Saint-Géréon (Loire-Atlantique) on the north bank, to reach Orée d 'Anjou (Maine-et-Loire) on the south bank.
The structure is a suspension bridge with a total length of 412 m, with a central span of 238 m. The piers, made in the bed of the river, are made of regular masonry. They are overlooked by side pylons, made of reinforced concrete, which hold the carrying cables. The deck is made up of two lateral stiffness beams, Town type latticework, held by the hangers at the intersection of the crosspieces of the beams.

We can notice, on the diamond mesh, between the spacers of the pylons, coats of arms representing the coat of arms of Brittany, for the pile located on the right bank, and the golden fleurs-de-lys of the coat of arms of Anjou on the left bank. The bridge has become, since its first construction, a symbol of the passage from Brittany to Anjou.
