Located in the surroundings of the Retiro large pond, one of the most visited areas of the park, this sculptural and architectural complex pays homage to King Alfonso XII. Inaugurated by his son Alfonso XIII in 1922, the monument is inspired by those made to Victor Manuel II in Rome and to William I in Berlin.

A beautiful monument to our historic King Alfonso set in magnificent surroundings by a lake in the central part of Retiro park. Simply a world class cultural location and well attended by visitors.
