It is worth strolling through the idyllic clinic park along the pond and enjoying the beautiful nature. It is freely accessible to everyone.The history of Villa Wulfriede began on April 14, 1900. The Hamburg merchant Dr. Max Albrecht (1851-1925) bought the 12-hectare site in Großhansdorf on Sieker Landstrasse. Two years later, his magnificent country house villa decorated with half-timbering was completed in the elaborate neo-romantic style of the turn of the century. Based on the old field name »Wulfrie« for swampy land, the property was given the name »Wulfriede«. Under the direction of a landscape architect, the area, which was criss-crossed with meadows and wooded hills, was transformed into a beautiful garden park with a large pond. The property includes a coachman's house, a gardener's house and a gatehouse - in the same architectural style as the villa. After the father's death, his son Dr. Ernst Albrecht (1877-1960) took over the villa and rebuilt it in 1927. In the spring of 1990, the Society for System Consulting in Health Care acquired the facility in order to transform it into an orthopedic specialist clinic with a nationwide model character. In this way, the historically valuable property, one of the last of its kind in Großhansdorf, will be preserved for the general public in connection with a social task for the future. manhagen.de/klinik/geschichte
