The Église Saint-Jean-du-Grund is a beautiful church in a fantastic location. It is in excellent condition and boasts stunning stained-glass windows that are particularly striking in the sunshine. Furthermore, it is one of the few churches to possess a Black Madonna, which has made it a place of pilgrimage. Its location in the valley, nestled between the other abbey buildings and the Alzette River, with the steep cliffs and casemates on the other side, offers a range of moods from tranquil and idyllic to mystical. Definitely worth a visit; allow plenty of time both inside and out.
