Siljustøl was the home of Norwegian composer Harald Sæverud (1897–1992) and his wife Marie Hvoslef. These days the estate is a museum along with being a private residence, but the grounds have been made available to the public. It is a large green area with good paths and trails, ideal for hiking and very family friendly. The Bergen International Festival has also arranged concerts at Siljustøl since 1994.
