They still exist, these places that even Marburg residents are not so familiar with. The romantic writer Bettina von Arnim née Brentano (1785 – 1859) chose this tower of the old city wall as one of her favorite places. She also wrote about a romantic New Year's Eve she spent there. It is nicely hidden on the Schloßberg and can unfortunately only be reached via a private path, which we managed to do during a guided tour
