Oberstdorfer Hammerspitze is really worthwhile, BUT: only for experienced miners who have a head for heights and are SAFE! The heli regularly picks up people who have overestimated themselves, can no longer find the unmarked (back) way or suddenly panic. The Oberstdorfer Hammerspitze lies northwest of the Fiderepass (2035 m) and the Fiderepasshütte (2067 m) and southeast of the Walser Hammerspitze (2170 m). The summit of the Hochgehrenspitze rises in the connecting ridge to the latter (also Northwest Hammerspitze, 2251 m).
