When the gorse blooms, which is the case at the moment, the landscape turns yellow and when the sky darkens over the terrain and speaks of the coming rain, it is a spectacular sight. I added related photos today.
It is probably advisable not to leave the paths. There may be underground hollows or explosives that have not yet exploded.
A bus stops at Havelpark and you only need a few minutes to enter this completely different world.

The Döberitzer Heide was used for several hundred years as a military training area and was thus a military restricted area. Accordingly, she was spared any agricultural use and so has preserved an original, hilly landscape until today. Since 1997, only a small part has been used for military maneuvers, the remainder has been demilitarized and is now under conservation.
The center of the Döberitzer Heide is the wilderness core zone. Surrounded by a fence live bison, wild horses and red deer. The animals are neither fed nor cared for veterinarians and are thus to train a real wilderness population. With a bit of luck, you can discover the animals on your walks.
