Mountain biking
The mountain is the highest in the north-western half of the Middle Thuringian Forest and after the Great Beerberg (982.9 m), the Schneekopf (978 m) and the Great Finsterberg (944.1 m) the fourth highest (independent) mountain in Thuringia.
It can be easily recognized as a landmark from the north and west within a radius of about 30 to 50 kilometers.
