This forest road is called Bluntautal forest road. This was built between 1908 and 1914 on behalf of the Austrian heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, with the help of K&K pioneer battalions, because said heir to the throne had a hunting ground in the upper Bluntau valley. It runs in steep serpentines from the valley exit to the Obere Jochalm. The upper part between the Jochalmen is currently (September 2022) affected by several rockfalls and mudslides. From the Obere Jochalm there is only a 1.4 km long, rugged path up to the Torrener Joch and the Carl von Stahl-Haus (mountain bike push track).
