After their confluence north of Altlandsberg, the Long Elsen Flow (coming from Werneuchen as the actual Erpe) and the Wegendorfer Mühlen Flow form the Neuenhagener Mühlen Flow, which from here on is also called the Erpe. The rivers are the namesake of the NSG "Langes Elsenfliess and Wegendorfer Mühlenfliess", which stretches over 205 hectares between Wegendorf and Altlandsberg.
