Take a short scramble up amongst the trees and you can see the (small) ruin of Stairlight Castle. (Please note this is on a short ‘no cycling’ section of the route.)

Hiking

It’s hidden from the path - take the steps up the bank from the side of the stream and don’t go over the stile, but turn right. It’s 50 yards along the track. Or scramble up the bank from the seat on the riverside. It’s just to your left as you approach the top of the bank.
