The former location training area WENTORFER LOHE is located northeast of the former garrison town of Wentorf and extends between the communities of Wohltorf, Wentorf, Neu-Börnsen and the Sachsenwald. With only about 250 ha, the Lohe - as the area is colloquially called - was not very large. Nevertheless, the diversity of meadows with alternating wooded areas offered the grenadier battalions stationed in Wentorf the opportunity to practice military emergencies.

Nowadays it is a beautiful piece of nature that I can highly recommend.

A wonderful local recreation area and an important retreat for nature. When the weather is nice, it is usually quite crowded. Unfortunately, many dog owners do not keep to the leash requirement. :( When driving briskly, you should therefore always have your hands on the brakes.
