On top of the mountain, 115 meters above sea level. NN, the small St. Marienkirche has been firmly anchored in the earth since the middle of the 13th century. It is thus the highest church in Schleswig-Holstein. With much effort and love, it was built of fieldstones that people had gathered from their fields. When exactly that was is unknown. The Marienkirche was mentioned for the first time in the year 1259 (list of all churches of the Diocese of Lübeck).
