Hiking

During the Second World War there was an ammunition depot in the middle of the forest, which was blown up after the end of the war. The 20 or so ruins of the bunker can still be seen today and are partially overgrown.

Hiking

During World War II, there were several Wehrmacht ammunition depots in Dortmund and the surrounding area. These depots were mainly used to store and distribute ammunition for the various military units. The ammunition depots were often well hidden and heavily guarded to protect them from enemy attacks.

A well-known example is the Munitionsanstalt near Dortmund, which was used to store and process ammunition. These facilities played an important role in warfare and were strategically located throughout the German Reich.
