Significantly better condition of the road to the Pragel Pass: If you don't want to cross the pass, I recommend the ascent from Glarus, as it offers several advantages compared to the east side:
- Much better asphalt condition
- Significantly less steep
- Generally wider roads, where encounters with cars are less stressful...
- The descent is much more enjoyable on this side for the reasons mentioned above
