The statue 'friendship' by sculptor Stan Grooten, and it symbolizes the friendship between Belgians and Dutch, for which the border municipality Poppel is known. You see two people, a Dutchman on clogs with a round of cheese in his arms, and a Belgian with a cone of fries. The monument was unveiled by the mayor, alderman of Culture Jef Van de Pol and deputy Peter Bellens.
