Tips

  • Thaddäus

The railway line from Dahlhausen to Weitmar has its origin and decline in mining and now provides the basis for a gently rising bike path. With the release of the third section in October 2017, the gap has been closed to a largely car-free connection from the Ruhr to the center of Bochum.

  • The path has been completely paved and cleared since the beginning of June 2019.

  • a large part of the bike path is already paved the slope is only moderate and you always drive through the countryside

  • The last undeveloped section between Weitmar and Dahlhausen will be completed this winter until spring. Stand. 11.2018.

  • Rolls well in both directions😊

  • My view a little too narrow. Again and again conflicts between cyclists and pedestrians. The Springorum will soon be expanded.

  • Nice connection to get from Bochum city center to the Ruhr. Road bikes or gravel pedal very quickly on fantastically smooth asphalt.

  • Nice route from Bochum's city center directly to the Ruhr and thus directly to Essen and Hattingen. Unfortunately it is very crowded here at lunchtime / in the afternoon and when the weather is nice, especially pedestrians romp here in all group sizes, with and without a dog ...

  • Follow the Springorum cycle path to its end in Dahlhausen and from there on to the Ruhr valley. At the footbridge Dahlhausen change to the other shore. From there on the Ruhrtalradweg continue towards Essen or Hattingen!

  • Great route, unfortunately I miss an easy connection to the Jahrhunderthalle with an extension to the ore railway line. Maybe there are and I just can't find them; Komoot also likes to guide me into the desert ...

  • Very nice, cross-free paved route on former railroad tracks from Bochum's Westpark to the north in the direction of Gelsenkirchen. On the way connection to other routes, e.g. towards the world cultural heritage Zeche Zollverein.

  • Hi first.
After I got about 3 or 4 years ago? from the Jahrhunderthalle in
Bochum tried to get to the Springorum cycle path, with detours (very bad route through Bochum city) .. Asked someone, he helped me: Better drive back about 3 km in the same direction, then turn left and then you will see it Fietsweg, thanks to his help, found and was nice to drive, a bit narrow, but it works. Certainly much more difficult at the weekend.
But after about 4 km it became very demanding in its time; to Bo-Dahlhausen only gravel. Some had their problems with flat tires, etc.
But, thank you, whoever ... is past ...

  • What's with the crap with the brake shafts over the entire Springorum bike path.
Have there been so many accidents or reckless idiots?
This is a not very well thought-out sign for the safety of cyclists.
Then the path should be made wider, so joggers, cyclists, skaters and pedestrians can bump into each other.
