      Stiepeler miners rebuild Zeche Haunert
The Haunert colliery on Blies Stollen was also called "Pitcher Pail": Coal was mined here in the 1950s.
Stiepel .. The squire club mallets & irons has an eventful year ahead of itself. While the visitors of the "Klosterhof" at the Cistercian Monastery are now greeted by the new club mascot, which bears the beautiful name "Der Schwatte", the club is organizing a large miner's service, which is scheduled to take place on May 20.

And then there is another project that could be spectacular: right next to the Mala-kowturm on the Bliestollen in Weitmarer wood, for which the Knappenverein just last year a roof for the receipt of the "worried" has, is now in this Year a replica of the colliery Haunert arise, which actually existed at this point in the 1950s. "We have submitted an application to the Stadtwerke within the framework of the funded future projects," says chairman Rainer Dickhut. "And this application has now been approved."

To the colliery Haunert, which was popularly called "pit bucket", probably remember only the elders. Until the closure in 1959, the mine was only a few years in operation - and the yield was clear: "Supposedly 50 000 tons of coal were promoted here, as one can really speak of 'bucketful'," says Dickhut. After all, 41 miners were employed here
The replica is supposed to be nine meters high. The squire club Schlägel & Eisen works together with the Mining Museum - and is particularly pleased about the commitment of the company Deilmann-Haniel, which wants to bring the replica as part of their apprenticeship training on the way. "If all goes well, then we can start construction in the middle of the year." Around fall, the Haunert mine could then celebrate its reopening. "Whether we will offer regular tours is not yet clear," says Dickhut. "In any case, however, information boards are set up." And who would like to know more about the colliery Haunert and mining in Stiepel and Sundern, of course, can turn to the miners' association.

By the way, the mascot "Der Schwatte" meets a lot of affection in the Klosterhof. The figure was sculpted by the Wiemelhaus artist Moni Hilgenstöhler from wood. "Many look at the figure curiously," says Dickhut. "As a result, our club already has five new members."
