Underground station which connects Brussels South Station to Brussels North Station.
The design of the building was entrusted to Victor Horta in the 1930s, while the underground excavation of the junction progressed slowly, after being interrupted by the First World War and while the economic crisis compromised budgets. The Second World War having stopped the construction site again, it was after the death of the architect, in 1947, that Maxime Brunfaut, son of the architect Fernand Brunfaut, president of the Office de la Jonction Nord-Midi, is entrusted with the construction of the station, while the six-track tunnel is under construction.
