Beautiful church and neighborhood with some Art Nouveau houses in the area.

The monumental Town Hall of the Brussels municipality of Sint-Gillis is located on Maurice Van Meenenplein. It is the masterpiece of architect Albert Dumont, built in the period 1900-1904.
The building bears the inscription "Hôtel de Ville" (town hall), although Saint-Gilles is a municipality. The mayors relied on the (then long demolished) Fort of Monterey as a fortification that gave them the right to call themselves a city.
