Above the door of the church in Dohan, Florentius welcomes every visitor.
Saint Florentius came from Bavaria and became a student of Saint Martin in Tours († 397; feast November 11). Through him he was ordained a priest and sent to preach the Gospel in Poitou. Later he retired to Mount Glonne in Anjou to live the life of a hermit. He gathered a large number of students around him. This is how the monastery St-Florent-le-Vieux, named after him, was founded. He must have died at a very old age; perhaps he was even a hundred and twenty-three years old at that time.

Initially a castle chapel, it was transformed into a church in 1817.
