The "Schneiderkreuz" is a so-called "Muntatstein". The Kreuzstein stands on the old Kirchweg to Prülsbirkig and is entered in the hiking maps as a Schneiderskreuz. The coat of arms bears an old crescent and a late medieval shoe The stone thus commemorates the violent death of a shoemaker.

Hiking

Returning from the church fair in Prüllsbirkig, a shoemaker and a tailor got into an argument. Unbeknownst to each other, both were infatuated with the same girl. When this fact became apparent, they decided to duel. They severely injured each other. The tailor bled to death, and the shoemaker managed to drag himself to Totental (now Mariental), where he also died. The "Shoemaker's Stone" still stands there today. The "Tailor's Cross" is a cross stone on the old church path to Prüllsbirkig.
