Located in a wooded area in Braine-le-Château, it is an unusual little Roman Païs chapel… with inverted stone! Built in 1740 and restored in 1774, the Notre-Dame au Bois chapel, a single-nave shrine with a three-sided apse, is said by tradition to have replaced a small chapel fronted by a stone inscribed: "S. Maria , refuge for those afflicted with fever, pray for us." Thanks, or thanks to a somewhat distracted mason during the reconstruction of the chapel, you will find this stone... but placed upside down! Currently, a mass is celebrated there every Friday of Lent at 9:00 am. Every year in Braine-le-Château, on Sunday July 2 or the following day, the procession of Notre-Dame-au-Bois also takes place, which brings together the president of the "Cavaliers de Notre-Dame-au-Bois", peasants on horseback, the Saint Lucia fanfare, the statue of Notre-Dame-au-Bois followed by the Blessed Sacrament. It is the believers who form the rearguard.
