The water areas lie between the Aspeler Schmales Meer and the Reeser Meer and apparently have no proper name. At least I couldn't find a name on the internet. Nevertheless, the lakes are a worthwhile highlight on a bike tour. Numerous species of waterfowl were to be found there during our visit at the end of October. Some obviously prior to their flight to warmer climes, as there was some excitement among the animals. A cycling and hiking trail leads along the lakes and the Reeser Meer. The silence there, broken only by the birds, is pleasant and allows nature lovers to linger a little longer.
