On the site of a former half-timbered church, which was demolished after about 200 years as dilapidated, this church was built in 1851/52 according to the plans of the famous consistorial architect Friedrich August Ludwig Hellner.
Hellner's work owes some churches in this region her face. The interior of the church is simple and clear and looks through the wide vaulted ceiling and the large clear glass windows very bright. This corresponds to the former spirit of the Enlightenment and is underlined by the current light color scheme. Noteworthy is also the historic Furtwängler organ from 1854, which is largely preserved in its original state.Source:
