Some history:
The brewing trade was already established in Korschenbroich in the 13th century. According to the brewery's own statements, a Heinrich der Brauer was granted the right to brew beer at the Kraushof in Korschenbroich by the rule of Myllendonk Castle in 1266, from which the brewery claims to be the oldest of its kind. However, the namesake Peter Bolten only leased the Kraushof in 1753 and finally acquired it in 1774.
