I am fascinated by such historical sites and the remains of this ring wall are really interesting; the lovingly laid out herb garden in particular fits in well here. The fact that the fireplace is open to the public and can even be used is astonishing in this day and age and I also find the tolerance and trust in responsible use of it very pleasing. This makes it even easier to imagine yourself back in time by the open fire.
