The Mattstock chairlift runs from the village of Amden to 910 meters above sea level. in the middle of the beautiful hiking area at 1292 m above sea level. The mountain station at the Walau is the starting point for some of the most popular hikes in Amden. For example the royal spear hike, the Amdener Höhenweg to Arvenbüel and the scenic Hasenboden Höhenweg. Climbers and paragliders also like to use the Mattstock chairlift to get to their starting point.
