House of prayer is dedicated to the holy martyrs Cosma and Damiano.
The martyrs were two medical brothers who lived between the third and fourth centuries AD. The first foundations are already mentioned in the 12th century. The prayer house was built on the remains of Roman walls and floors and is therefore of very ancient origin. In the 18th century, the church is completely rebuilt from the foundations and the bell tower was added in the later years.

The church of Maddalena is a surprise to many visitors to Alba, who are used to discovering a richly decorated city. This church was built (mid 18th century) in the typical Piedmontese baroque style.
Many pilgrims come to visit the relics at the lavish altar.
Concerts and exhibitions regularly take place in the prayer house, which has very good acoustics.
The church can be visited every day from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
