The church has some 17th-century paintings, some 18th-century polychrome statues of saints and mostly neo-Gothic furniture. On the outside of the church is a calvary from the late 18th century and a 17th century tombstone with coats of arms.

From the archives we can deduce that this church already existed before 1260. On the southern aisle we find anno 1650. On March 22, 1854 the tower, the roof of the central nave and the cross and side aisles, together with some nearby village buildings, burned down completely. This is how most of the church and community archives disappeared. A year later, the church was restored, higher than before. This can be clearly seen from the difference in stone, namely sawn French stone and the tower with a band of red brick, in late Gothic style. On the southern transept we find a beautiful bas-relief depicting Pasqual De Deckere and Cornelia Houtappel, gentlemen of Zevenbergen in the 17th century.
