For several years this region has been a UNESCO cultural heritage site. The vineyards, separated by walls, stand on a lava field. Each individual plant is planted in a gutter with some soil. So that the little earth is not washed away, endless walls of basalt stones were built. An incredible job, hence heritage. The mill in the middle of these vineyards creates a nice color contrast. This section of the trail alone is worth a trip
