We have combined the Shell Cemetery with the Svatej Nikolai Boardwalk. We were on the beach, stopped off at the beach bar and I have to say it was a well-rounded affair. There were great pictures of nature, the boardwalk and the shells. Of course it was only about 3 KM, but it was really nice for 2-3 hours. And I didn't find the shell cemetery bad, on the contrary.

A point that can also be found in travel guides, but unfortunately totally sobering. The shells are there and if you know how the pictures look good, but it's just a thin line between the mud and the harbor - nothing special really. I regret going there...

Biologically speaking, it is more of a snail graveyard than a mussel graveyard. In any case, this is where the mud was brought when the Ankaran port basin was relocated. The mud has now been locked away, dried out, what do I know - and millions of snail and mussel shells remained behind...
