Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
Time a negative highlight: in Bochum-Weitmar a new housing development is provided directly on the route. Not only did you change the route, which would otherwise be straightforward and gradient-free, but also changed options for future use. The photos show
the almost plowed rails in front of the settlement
the two turns off the track.

I can confirm Dieter's tip, everything goes in one go through to Dahlhausen. You do not have to drive in the previously unpaved part (which I actually did not find so bad with the trekking bike), nor do you have to drive down in Dahlhausen or close to the road.

An optimal cycle path connection on a former railway line that leads from the Ruhr Valley near Dahlhausen up to the center of Bochum. The route is very well paved, in the lower part there are interesting information boards about the history of mining here in the Ruhr Valley.

Too bad that from the castle park on the busy Hattinger road, which fortunately partly a separate bike path has to dodge. For bikes with sensitive tires, the part of Eva mentioned above is in many places impassable. I'm curious if next spring will be different.
