    The ditch covering of the Rehberger water ditch took place to secure the winter operation. Twenty-five percent of the ditch is covered by large granite boulders. This was necessary to prevent the watercourse from being blown over or freezing over in winter. Rake constructions made of wood in the inlet of the covered ditch sections ensure that the flotsam can be removed from the ditch system. Individual water gauges monitor that not too much water is discharged towards St. Andreasberg.
