The Eriskircher Ried nature reserve was set up to create space for endangered animals. It is a particularly natural breeding, resting and feeding area for many rare waterfowl, insects, fish, amphibians and reptiles, some of which are threatened with extinction, with a species-rich vegetation. The area stretches over 252ha between the Schussen and Rotach rivers. It can be visited via a designated path or by boat through the Schussen.
