Rerik is easy to reach by bus. A small, quiet town with the Salzhaff on one side and the Baltic Sea on the other. A fantastic hiking trail above the cliffs leads east to Kuehlungsborn and further... Unspoilt, largely unpaved through forest and field, away from the roads. The Schlemmerscheune in Kägsdorf is a good tip for cool drinks and a small snack (freshly smoked fish on Wednesdays). From the lighthouse Bastorf Buk you have a great view over the coastline from Rerik to Warnemünde.
