The village church of Witzin is a sacred monument from the 13th century. The western tower is dated somewhat younger. It is a simple single-aisled fieldstone building in the transitional Romanesque-Gothic style. The nave is accompanied by a rectangular chancel and a recessed squat tower on a square plan. The pointed spire with a diamond roof is covered with wooden shingles, which is a rarity in Mecklenburg. Arched windows combined in pairs illuminate the interior.
Inside, ribbed vaults hide the roof truss. In addition to the well-kept neo-Gothic furnishings, the eight-sided granite baptismal font from 1300 is striking.denkmalschutz.de/denkmal/dorfkirche-witzin.html

There is an old linden tree in front of the church. What's special about it is that it's hollow. I've only seen that in oak trees before.
