Towards the end of the 18th century, the Schormühle belonged to the Realgemeinde of Altheim. The mill had the Brandenburg-Bayreuth Vogtamt Altheim as landlord. Under the Prussian administration (1792-1806) of the Principality of Bayreuth, the Schormühle was given house number 25 in the town of Altheim.

As part of the community edict, Schormühle was assigned to the Altheim tax district formed in 1811 and to the Altheim rural community formed in 1817. On July 1, 1972, Altheim was incorporated into Dietersheim as part of the local government reform.
