runs the 1.5 km long apple wine path, or, as the Gerauer say, the Ebbelwoi-Päädsche, between the Groß-Gerau districts "Auf Esch" and Wallerstädte. Along the route, information boards, some of which are illustrated, explain how the Hessian Ried came about, where mammoths lived, how it changed and where the Ebbelwoi and the Romans left their mark.
The path is well developed and does not pose any problems for pedestrians, cyclists or wheelchair users.

Halfway past the Roman bridge, there is an apple orchard with benches to rest. Historically, apple cultures belong to Waller towns. As early as 1701, a cider company from Sachsenhausen built a wine press house. In 1888, around 9,000 fruit trees were sold in the nurseries of the Rheinfelder Hof. Today, the wine for pressing has to be sourced from other areas and ripened into Ebbelwoi.
