The Prince's Gate is the oldest of the gates and in its current form can be dated back to 1753. When the yellow foundation-walled gate was made in 1753, it replaced an earlier gate constructed of wood. The Prince's Gate was designed by officer and military architect Samuel Christoph Gedde.
