Meisdorfer Trift

The Meisdorfer Trift begins directly at the "Meisdorfer Strulle" - a small watercourse at the mouth of a historic mining tunnel for hard coal. It is classified as: Dirt or forest track, Gravel road, or Dirt track (gravel or other densely packed materials). This gravel path runs along the northern side of the Selketal. Among other things, it leads to the Selkesicht, to the Ackeburg and to the Bauernwiese. In former times the cattle of Meisdorf were driven to the forest pasture on it. Every place nearby had one or more, e.g.: - the Opperöder Trift, the Kuhtrift, the Schweinetrift or the Riedersche Trift. Shortly before the Hohe Warte, the highest point in the Ballenstedter Forest, the Meisdorfer Trift ends after about 5.4 km

A continuously paved forest path. Very nice to walk.
