Kartlis Deda (Georgian ქართლის დედა; German: Mother of Georgia) is a monumental statue in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. It stands on the Sololaki mountain ridge in the west of the city and is visible from afar.
The statue symbolizes the city of Tbilisi, which is popularly called the Mother of Georgia. She looks at the city with her head slightly tilted, holds a bowl of wine for her friends in her left hand and a sword against her enemies in her right. At night the statue is illuminated by spotlights.
